Co-Creation (John Dotson’s dream of February 21, 2016)

I’m at a gathering for a major, large-scale production. This is the first complete convocation of the performers, artists, and crew—who have all been working intensely in sub-teams. Now we are converging for the complete conjoining of our efforts. The circle is made of many life-long friends and very close companions, co-creators. We work seamlessly in flow—instinctually, archetypally, integrally.

When the time comes, I stand to speak to make the convening statement, which is very specific—natural and reaching out to everyone. I detail the many aspects of our coming together at this time, in the fullness of time:

… Just imagine the range of experience of each of you, and of all of you, in this room. Think of the hours studying, training, preparing. Rehearsing, practicing, applying. Developing great depths. Imagining, designing, building, performing, wrapping. Serving these arts to the utmost—weeping, leaping, sweeping the floor. What talents. What dedication. The plays, the films, the multi-media, the many, many art forms. All this you—and all of us—now bring to bear.

As I am speaking, I feel the spirit, the inspiration, and I am aware of the spirit in our midst.

This done, we instantaneously are in the stage/studio—large and fully equipped. We begin to work on the consolidating presentation. I am thrilled by the advanced work, to be doing the advanced and advancing work. Trusting the process without a doubt’s remove.

The emergent power is all but overwhelming, but the conviviality, the ripeness of all through and through, is containing and consoling. I am not functioning out of anxiety.

It is very exciting moving around, taking everything in. Moving from perspective to perspective—with vast yields from every changing position I take—as the transitions begin to form at various levels, in generous, proliferating dimensions.

All are closely attuned, all who are involved, and it is a large number. Energizing, enfolding—I think of the choreography. To my companion R—, I mention the choreographer S—, who is ready, willing, eager to contribute. There is another choreographer also who is highly capable and interested in what we are doing.

All this is substantive, concretizing—fluid, gathering energies.
