Dream of October 29, 2007

I am enrolled in some kind of academic course, and am reading the instructor’s response to a paper I’ve written. The teacher indicates that my work reaches the quality of “Master Carnobis.” Apparently this means that the caliber of the work far surpasses what is expected for a course at that level. I start rereading the paper and realize that—yes—what I do here is achieve transcendent heights, approach the infinite, fly. I now see myself swinging high and free, in great circular arcs, as if on a trapeze.

This dream suggests the dizzying ecstasy of something transcendent, and brings to mind a much older dream.
