Journey Toward the Eastern Dawn (Brendan’s second dream of Summer 2019)
What are we doing here, and where are we going/being guided to? We are seekers, but I do not know where we have been or how we got here. We are going ‘up’ and ‘from’ somewhere/something, and we are on our way to either the surface or top of the wall perhaps? In addition to this spatial reference we are also ‘going toward the dawn.’ We are looking for the eastern glow. I seem to know that we are heading east. I am waiting to hear, “Behold! The Eastern Glow where the Golden Helm shall appear.”
The dream does not proceed to our seeing the dawn. However, we know that we are going in the right direction and that we are near to where we seem to be going. It seems that we spend hours shuffling along by dim torchlight. The slope is uphill and gradual. The passageway rises and widens to a point where, as we continue along the wall to our left, we lose sight of the right hand wall. There seems to be a huge open space. The guide repeats, “Keep close to the wall.” There seems to be a crowd of people over there, but they are not just loitering. They belong to groups which are traversing this dark territory. They walk with staffs. There seems to be no hierarchy among our groups until we, seemingly on our own—not by command, stand back against the wall to allow another small group to snake on past us in the eastward direction. They seem to ‘be on business’. They seem to have a deadline.
Now all alone, I have become separated from everyone else, and apparently have wandered away from the wall across an expanse to finally arrive at the edge of what looks like a stone castle wall overlook. There are other people there who are also looking out over a dark tangled forest landscape.
In this dungeon dream I find myself standing beside the person from my previous dream who corrected me when I spoke of the ‘blamelessness and innocence’ of what had just suddenly manifested there in the forest. It was a man. We stood and watched the night-time forest, looking far beyond the base of the wall. He was a teacher. He did all the talking. Still there was no dawn in sight.
