Rose Room (Deborah Hillman’s dream of March 17, 2015)
I find myself in a huge room with antique furniture and chandeliers, painted, floor to ceiling, in soft pink. There’s something appealing about the room, and I comment to Steve Rosen, “I like pink walls, and these have a hint of lavender.” I’m rather surprised at just how drawn I am to the color of the room, and think that perhaps I’ll design a pink room of my own. The walls, I discover on close inspection, have a roughened texture, which adds some subtle shading to the color. The room, overall, is elegant, spacious, and filled with gentle warmth, though done in a style more formal than I prefer.
